Dream Week - 7 days of hope, has gained tremendous Department store support.
The celebration of Dream Week in both David Jones and Myer stores nationally will take the message of the program to the community and help raise vital funds so more cancer patients can benefit from this uplifting workshop experience. Dream Week - 7 days of hope, has gained tremendous Department store support.
David Jones’ and Myer’s commitment to Dream Week – 7 days of hope, and raising money for the cosmetic industry’s “Look Good… Feel Better” (LG…FB) program, has been inspirational.
Both retailers will donate $1 from every lipstick and lip gloss sale for the entire week. Myer have also generously donated exclusive dais space for our LG…FB volunteers to host outposts to sell some great Dream Week merchandise. This will be available in city stores in Sydney, Melbourne, Chadstone, Brisbane, and Perth.
At David Jones, the beauty advisors will wear Dream Week badges throughout the entire week, and at Myer the industry will dress their beauty advisors in a very special edition red Dream Week t-shirt, flooding the Myer cosmetic floors in their top 20 doors with our beautiful tree of dreams logo.
Myer are also placing an advertisement for Dream Week in their premier publication, the Myer Beauty Book, with a distribution of $1.2 million.
And to top it all off, both stores are also still attending our glamorous Dream Ball on Friday 17th September with David Jones going Gold again this year, and Myer going Bronze. The cosmetic industry is extremely grateful and appreciative of this unprecedented level of Department store support.

Invitation To Mark Your Diaries - Dream Ball 17th September 2010
Following the tremendous success of Dream Ball 2009, it is with great anticipation we ask you to mark your diaries for the Wonderful Dream Ball 2010. The bar has been raised and our exceptional fundraising and outstanding event will be bettered for 2010. For the first time in history, the Dream Ball tickets were sold out last year before demand was met.
We invite you to mark your diaries now for the annual Cosmetic and Fragrance Industry’s gala event, the Wonderful Dream Ball 2010. For two decades the Dream Ball has been the highlight of the Industry’s social calendar, raising the majority of the operating funds required to run Look Good…Feel Better, a community-based service program designed to help cancer patients cope with the appearance-related side effects of treatment.
The Dream Ball will be held within DREAM WEEK 2010 - 7 days of hope. This week, commencing on 12th September 2010 will include a range of events designed to elevate the recognition and exposure of the Look Good…Feel Better program.
Over 80,000 Australian women, men and teenagers living with cancer have been helped by the program to date, supported by a dedicated network of over 1,700 volunteers from the beauty and hair care industries. This valuable program only exists due to the continuing generosity of the cosmetic and fragrance industry and its important partners in retailing, media and publishing groups, as well as other key suppliers to the industry.
Your attendance and support this year will ensure that over 10,000 patients can continue to gain the benefits of the Look Good…Feel Better program in 2010 and beyond. We look forward to seeing you there.

About Look Good…Feel Better
Established in 1990, Look Good…Feel Better (LGFB) is a free national community service program specifically for women, men and teenagers undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation treatment for cancer.
The appearance related side effects of treatment, such as loss of hair and changes to the colour and texture of the skin, can have a devastating effect on a person’s self esteem and confidence.
The objective of LGFB is to help rebuild self esteem and personal image by providing practical support through the use of skin care, make-up, wigs, hats and turbans.
The program provides a much needed confidence boost to patients during their treatment and doctors now recommend the program as a valuable part of the cancer treatment process.
The Cosmetic, Toiletry & Fragrance Association of Australia (CFTA) established the charity, the Cancer Patients Foundation, to run the program in 1990. ACCORD Australasia now represents the cosmetic & fragrance industry and administers the Cancer Patients Foundation on its behalf.
