Priceline is delighted to announce that, in little over a year, its community initiative – The Priceline Sisterhood – has received over $500,000 in donations!
Launched in June 2011, the Priceline Sisterhood raises valuable funds for Priceline’s six charity partners, chosen specifically for the support they offer to women in the areas of heart health, mental health, family wellbeing and fighting cancer. Look Good…Feel Better is one of those fortunate beneficiaries.
API Managing Director and CEO, Stephen Roche, thanked all the Priceline customers who have contributed to the Sisterhood and said that the initiative had been very well received.
“We’d like to thank all our customers for their generous support over the past 12 months as well as our supplier partners, who have been key in helping us reach this significant milestone,” said Roche.
“The Priceline Sisterhood aligns perfectly with our company’s major focus around women’s health and wellbeing. The feedback we’ve had from both our customers and franchise partners has been overwhelmingly positive and I believe the fundraising results are a reflection of the genuine belief in the causes we’ve chosen to support.”
Over the past 12 months, donations have flooded in from a combination of in-store product promotions and fundraising events, including two Guinness World Record events that raised over $40,000.
“The extraordinary support of the Priceline Sisterhood has helped women all over the country to improve their self-esteem and sense of wellbeing while undergoing treatment for cancer,” says Jan Samuels, CEO of Look Good…Feel Better. “The Sisterhood has helped to fund more than 130 Look Good…Feel Better workshops in the past two years, during which women learn to manage the appearance-related side-effects of their cancer treatment.
“The Sisterhood has also helped to raise awareness of cancer and Look Good…Feel Better through two fantastic Guinness World Record attempts, first for the most people having a manicure at one time and this year, the world’s largest make-up lesson, which was also great fun”.

Look Good…Feel Better Dream Week
We are thrilled by the success of our 2012 Dream week and Dream Ball, which together raised over $500,000 for Look Good…Feel Better.
The generous support from our retail partners, David Jones, Myer and Terry White Chemists resulted in a big contribution to helping Australian cancer patients. The Priceline Sisterhood through special events and in store donations also proudly fly the Look Good…Feel Better flag in the community.
This year we had four outposts selling beautiful Dream Week merchandise (two more than in previous years) at Westfield Bondi Junction Sydney, Westfield Sydney City, Chadstone Melbourne and Queens Plaza Brisbane.
A new radio advertisement was created specifically for Dream Week this year featuring Kerri-Anne Kennerley – thanks to Austereo.
Street banners decorated Sydney city streets with vibrant Dream week imagery.
Finally, many committed LG…FB volunteers held regional events that captured the spirit of giving that is Dream Week - 7 days of Hope.
Look Good…Feel Better Dream Ball
Dream Ball was held on Friday 14 September at the Parkside Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour Sydney.
Dream Ball was an exceptional celebration and demonstration of the philanthropy of the Australian cosmetic industry, exceeding all fundraising predictions and expectations to raise over $450,000 for Look Good…Feel Better to help cancer patients.
Over 630 glamorous guests attended the event. As he does every year, Garth Phillips (Wedding Looks and Event Hire) transformed the venue into a stunning spectacle – this year all in black and white.
Among the guests were Zoe Foster (Ambassador to the program), Dr Penny Adams (medical spokesperson) and Dr David Dalley (long-time Look Good…Feel Better supporter in his role as Senior Medical Oncologist at St Vincent’s Hospital).
MC for the night was Patron Kerri-Anne Kennerley, who spoke of her own recent cancer experience and her heightened appreciation of the beauty and power of the Look Good…Feel Better program.
Cancer patient Tennille Jago spoke of her shock cancer diagnosis at 32 years old and the pivotal role that Look Good…Feel Better played in helping transform her appearance and restore her dignity through treatment.
Entertainers included John Waters, Todd McKenney and Georgia Kollaras, performing classics such as The Beatles, “Something in the Way” – the inspiration for this year’s theme ‘Dream Ball…Really is Something’.
Uri Ferster, Dream Ball Convenor said “The Dream Ball was not only full of generous companies and individuals who freely gave to contribute to this great cause but it also was a magnificent social occasion with lots of entertainment. The message of giving to help others was core to the evening. In tough economic times the guests proved that philanthropy was alive and well.”
